not yet, BenV. I also suggest not to store the aliases on mysql (--disable-valias when compiling vpopmail), otherwise it's not possible to create aliases with qmailadmin.
Enabling sieve rules is convenient also because users can completely manage their accounts from within a webmail (roundcube for instance).

Hej roberto67, thanks for your comment. Did you manage to find a solution yet? Getting rid of the .qmail-default files can be done with a single find command, but I'm not sure if that's a smart thing to do.

I haven't changed my own server to use sieve by default yet, but when I do I'll come back on this.

Thanks for the guide, benv. At the end I suppose you wanted to let all users and virtualdomains use sieve rules. In that case, as you know, you had to edit qmail/control/defauldelivery but unfortunately the .qmail-default in the vpopmail/domain directory overwrites this file so that is necessary to clean .qmail-default in each domain, which is nuisance.
Any idea on how to overcome this?

Oh I remember this from my last reinstall, that's a bitch indeed.

I don't know if it's still any good because it's been a while since I've tried it, but Foxit Reader was a decent alternative. It's not that bloated and it doesn't ask for an update every five milliseconds (just wait until you -actually- need to open a pdf in Adobe Reader, you get one million popups asking if you want to download updates and extra software). Also I found that it's a decent reader, and (so far) it's free.

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/index.php

Also, for other bloatware you might want to see alternatives for:
- QuickTime Alternative = drivers, no bloatware player or iTunes
- Real Alternative = realplayer drivers, again without the player, toolbars, spam, 'check this if you do not want to not sell your soul' etc. I don't install this one anymore though, who uses realplayer-shit anyway?

Yeah I still run Windows more often than I'd like to admit, so I've looked around ;)

Nice trick.

found this after hitting the same problem, however the solution is relatively simple, so thought I'd add this here as you're a bit earlier in google's results and show up with a subject that's exactly relevant to what lots of people will be doing (me included!)

lm_sensors 3.1.1, net-snmp-5.5, you probably want to have lm_sensors 2.xx cleaned off the system to ensure the new features get used (including the asus_atk0110 acpi 'sensor' that won't be seen by earlier lm_sensors versions)

ACPI_CPUFREQ only gives me 2 speeds! 3.2 and 2.4GHz. Clockmod gives me 8 from 3.2GHz to 400MHz. Just because someone deemed that my processors too slow for me to use this, despite the fact I've been using it just fine for ages?! Thankfully it's open source and very easy to undo if you're building your own kernel/modules, and so I thought I'd share what I found cuz it *%#! annoyed the hell out of me too.

If you run:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_transition_latency
you will notice the latency is 10000001, which I thought looked highly suspicously like someone had hardcoded that number somewhere to be 1 more than a max number set somewhere where the ondemand/etc would work. You can find it in the file (assuming kernel sources are in /usr/src/linux) :
/usr/src/linux/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/p4-clockmod.c
If you search in that file for the number 10000001 in that file, decrease it by one to 10000000, and recompile the module (if you have p4-clockmod compiled as a module; if it's linked into the kernel you'll need to recompile the kernel and reboot).

I have found that changing the up_threshold of the ondemand governor from its default to 40 makes it ramp its speed up when I need it to, and stay there until it drops back down again. With my usage pattern it's not making these switches very often, so any delays in changing the speed are perfectly acceptable -to me-. To do this, simply:
echo 40 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold

Hope this is useful to you / anyone.

Hej IainKay, thanks for commenting.
It sounds like you either forgot to enable IPv6 forwarding on your dom0 (the stuff in yellow above, echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding), or maybe it's a firewalling issue.
Make sure ip6tables isn't blocking anything.
I haven't tested my patched scripts on older Xen versions, so it could be that there's a problem in those. When you ping your dom0 from your domU, can you see anything coming in when you run tcpdump on your dom0?

It's always hard to diagnose these problems without actually being able to check stuff on the machine :)
Good luck!

Hey BenV,
thanks for an interesting read. I've given this a bash on my Xen Dom0 and so far I'm having 50% positive results. Xen will actually boot the domain now instead of complaining about the IPv6 address in the config file, but I can't seem to get the IPv6 address pinging outside or the domU pinging the dom0 over IPv6.
I'm using CentOS with Xen 3.0.3 and vif-route (your patched script).
For IPv4 I have the IP address set to 94.23.159.153 and the gateway is also 94.23.159.153 with a netmask of 255.255.255.255. I don't know why this works, but it does. I've tried a few variations for IPv6 gateway but haven't got a clue really.
Any ideas?
All the IP addresses are publicly routed btw.

The step for step is pretty much in the purple colored box.

"bash bla" is my way of running configure, so just do ./configure there. Getting it to use the old version is done by altering the LD_FLAGS option in the Makefiles to point to /usr/local (where you installed lm_sensors 2.10).

If you run into any problems please let me know, I'll try to help, but I do need some more information as to where and how you get stuck :)
Good luck! :)

Hi!

I'm trying to do exactly the same thing. Running Slackware 13 x86 and I get the same error as you do, but your instructions in the colored box are hard to understand for me.

I installed lm_sensors 2.10 on top of 3.1 for snmp to compile, but I don't know get it how to force make file to use the old version.

Could you write a step for step how you did it, or maybe email me at rollese@gmail.com with instructions?

Thanks!

I find it funny that your actually going to knock a windows made game for not working on linux under an emulator written by linux devs. When will other loyal OS peeps ever give in and just accept that their shit isn't coded right either. GG is something that keeps these kinds of games from being hacked and loosing money... so yeah.. good for Aion.

I'm sorry that Aion chose to prevent hackers, and sorry that linux failed to provide proper "EMULATION" of a windows based program. I'd suggest invest in another operating system... Maybe hmmmm... Windows. You dont see me sitting here complaining about how I can't fucking run Knode under cygwin cause it ain't god damn made for it.

Yeah I've toyed around with pSX quite a while ago, seemed like a simple to use emulator. However, no 64 bit binaries indeed..... and no source either. And if you want to change options you're out of luck as well. (no plugins). But it's nice if you just want to play and have a 32 bit OS :)

pSX is a great emulator for the playstation. check it out i've been very impressed so far, it does not require plugins, only requires the bios. Has Windows and Linux executables, unfortunately i don't see a 64 bit executable for linux yet.

Just tried to run the script on the following package:
http://www-masu.ist.osaka-u.ac.jp/~kakugawa/download/TypeHack/VFlib3-3.6.14.tar.gz
It downloaded it fine, but when it tried to unpack it, it told me "the packages either doesn't create a directory or it does something weird" even though when I unpack it myself it does seem to make a directory.
Smells like a bug in the slackbuild script (-;
